Dr. Rona Silverton is an experienced board certified New york psychotherapist for women. She has over twenty years experience in private practice in the area of psychoanalytic psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, as well as stress management techniques. She received her graduate education with a master’s degree from Columbia University in 1971 and doctorate from the New York University in 1990. She has done extensive research on the coping process and psychological adjustment in women with endometriosis. She has led numerous support groups for women with endometriosis at the New York Downtown hospital. She has served as psychological advisor to the endometriosis Alliance.

Her interests have centered on psychotherapy and gender, self and body, feminity, and emotional intimacy.

“My goal is to free up women’s energy to allow them to move towards greater balance in life and promote their inner growth through awareness and self understanding of their unconscious,” she claims. Understanding unconscious hidden conflicts can free women to actualize their wishes, overcome hurtful, negative patterns, and reach toward greater success both professionally and personally.
